iPhone 6/6s Plus Model

We are almost completely sold out of our SAFE Wallet for iPhone 6/6s Plus. Once we sell out we do not plan to make any more. Why?

We are planning on making our iPhone 7/7Plus SAFE Wallet models backward compatible with the iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus models. Our iPhone 7/7Plus models will be offered in our standard colors of Ruby Red, Polar White, BulletTrain Blue and Stealth Black. We plan to introduce the new models on Kickstarter.

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are NOT COMPATIBLE with the SAFE Wallet for iPhone 6/6Plus. This is due to the fact the cameras are in a significantly different position, and the camera rings are also much taller than in the iPhone 6/6Plus.

Upcoming iPhone 7/7Plus SAFE Wallet Models

We have the design complete and have working prototypes for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7Plus SAFE Wallets. We are working on the second generation version prototypes in which we are fine-tuning them in great detail. The next generation SAFE Wallets are a radical departure from the past models, and in some ways, harken back to the design language of our SAFE Wallet for iPhone 5/5s.

We plan to launch them for pre-order on Kickstarter sometime around the middle of December, and hope to start shipping 4-6 weeks later.

As previously mentioned, we also plan to make our SAFE Wallet for iPhone 7/7Plus backwards compatible with the iPhone 6 and 6 plus family of iPhones.

We wanted to share some fantastic news about Apple's new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus! While it wasn't an advertised feature in Apple's keynote, the YouTube videos below demonstrates some EXTREME water-resistance in the new iPhones!

In the video below, you see the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus immersed in water for a very extended duration of time. Both devices were immersed for over an hour before they started to show any signs of water damage!

This is awesome news for BulletTrain customers who are using the new SAFE Wallet 6 Plus.

The only really objection we received in the past was that the SAFE Wallet did not offer waterproof protection for the iPhone, but now that is no longer an issue as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are extremely water resistant.

What does this mean? It means people who live or work in wet environments can now use the SAFE Wallet without worry!!!

T1 Production Prototype Report

The first production prototypes were completed early this week, and after a super-indepth evaluation I am reporting our progress. The T1 prototype sample photos below were taken in Asia, and we will have them in house in California next week for an even deeper evaluation. So far everything is looking really good. So far we only have one issue we have identified and need to resolve. We will know much more next week and will post another detailed update, but wanted to share our progress so far.

Just to be crystal clear, all the parts pictured in the  photos in this post were injection-molded in our tool, which you can see at the bottom of this post.

As previously mentioned, we only have one issue we have to resolve, which is illustrated below in the photo of the BulletTrain SAFE Wallet for iPhone 6 Plus. Notice toward the top of the right edge there is an uneven bump. This needs to be fixed. Our plastics engineer and tooling engineer have already come up with a solution, and it is being incorporated into the tool design this weekend.

The photos below show our tool for making the main case body of the SAFE Wallet for iPhone 6 Plus. I realize that to most people the SAFE Wallet looks really simple, and they imagine it is really easy to make. The reality is the exact opposite!!!!

I also believe there is another strong misconception that the role of the designer is to simply draw the design and then the machine spits the product out. In reality, as a design house we spend a great deal of time on the tooling design to make the actual parts. This process is extremely challenging and complex.

The BulletTrain SAFE Wallet for iPhone 6 is so far beyond anything else that exists on the market today. The reality is that when you are pushing the design, engineering and tooling envelope as we are, it takes time. As they say, "Good things take time."
